February update!

As promised, here's a photo of my lovely valentines gift from the Free People Valentine Swap. Aren't they great!?

Purple knitted headband with bow (doubles as a bow-tie?),
fabric covered hair clip, and 4 coordinating photo magnets
with hand written note and stitched design card.
It was all wrapped in pink heart ribbon too :)

I taught myself how to knit a few weeks ago and knitted a very long, mustard colored scarf for myself. I've started a few other scarves that are on hold right now because I need more yarn. But here is a finished project I'm giving to a friend as a late Christmas gift. It's thicker, mustard colored yarn. I've found that I'm partial to the chunky yarn because it takes less time to knit a project!

1.5 scanes of Chunky yarn, knitted with size 15 needle

How did my photographs turn out? I'm actually impressed and pleased by my little hand made lightbox.

Sorry for neglecting my blog for so long! Here's a quick update as to what's been happening.

Got together with good buddy, Anna, and Jess of KnitsbyJess for a night of knitting!

Jess & me working on our own projects

Anna showing Dena how it's "done"

Even the kitty wanted to learn

Darin and I are moving at the end of March, so, I've been sorting through our belongings, getting rid of a lot of junk and packing the rest. Here, our kitty, Mabel, is enjoying new places to rest in empty crevices.

A couple weeks ago, I got to go to the Minnesota Zoo with my friend, Lindsay. She and her husband have a membership there, so I got to go for free! Thanks, Lindsay!

I will update more later about the Free People Valentines Day Craft Swap I was involved in.

Worst Luck Ever

Update: My car got looked at by a mechanic and he could find NOTHING wrong. The car has been starting perfectly fine since the incident. Praise the Lord it didn't cost anything to look at/fix. Just the towing expense, which, ironically, we wouldn't have actually needed if we would have waited another day. I'm very thankful the weather has warmed up to high 30s this week. I hope it stays that way!
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Darin is right when he says I have the worst luck with cars. Tonight I went out to my car after working the 5:00- 9:30 shift at TS. It was 3 degrees outside and my car wouldn't start. Nothing at all. Not even a wimpy attempt to start. Just nothing. So I called Darin and he drove the 25 mins to come jump my car. Except when he pulled the lever to pop the hood, the lever broke. So, we couldn't pop the hood. We just drove home and left it in the parking lot. Will take care of it tomorrow. It was too late and too cold tonight.

To make things worse, Darin already has a leaking tire that needs to be replaced. I hope my car needs nothing more than a new battery. Life just seems unfair sometimes. Darin and I are both working like crazy to pay off debt and try to get ahead - but things like this make it so impossible.

I guess I should count my blessings despite a negative attitude at the moment. Things could be A LOT worse. That's it for now. Later.

New Hair

I'm getting a haircut and color at Moxie Salon tonight. I'm pretty excited about something different and supporting my friend, Hazel, who is a new stylist there! I will post photos later.

Updated with photo.....I got all over red color, with one strip of blonde on the right side and also a trim.

Too much to do, so little time

If only my day could be as long or as short as I wanted it to be. I'm sure there's a movie about that. Click or something?

Anyway, there's so much I want to do craft-wise. My list:
- spend more time on heads twogether stuff
-- cards
-- clothes
-- screenprinting
-- jewelry
-- blogging and store upkeep
- spend more time doing photography
- increase my sewing skills
- increase my knitting skills
- learn new printing techniques
- increase my html and web design skills
-- build an online portfolio website for myself

So, yeah, a lot I want to do.
