A pleasant Suprise

So, it is super nice outside today. Not too hot, but definitely not too cold. Earlier this afternoon, I decided to take a walk and check out a park in Edina that I have often jogged by. I brought a book along to read, as well as my digital camera. Originally I thought I'd attempt to be a creative photographer as I happened upon various yellow objects.

This was very lame in comparison to what I was about to discover. This park wasn't just a park.

It had mini golf! And paddle boats you could rent and paddle down the "river." I even saw a Crane (is that what it's called?)!

Anyway, it was a really really great experience walking around in the sunshine and gentle breeze. I read my book by the cute little fountain before walking home. I will definitely frequent this park in the future.

EG

It's been almost a week since this occurred, but, I didn't want to skip posting such a great memory! We were home for the weekend - Dena and I ran the 5k race with Amy and Laura Saturday morning and then spent the day with Erin. The boys got to hang out with Wayde too!

Sunday Cookout

We had the perfect weather for a cookout this afternoon! The rain held off until after the gathering. I even got a little pink from the sun today.

Lunch lesson

So, while I was waiting for my microwave dinner to finish cooking, my co-worker just started telling me about her niece, who's 5 (I think). She told me they went on a walk and the little girl kept saying "ooh, pretty flower" and kept commenting on things in nature. She told me it really opened her eyes - to see like a child. She went on to say how so many times "we" get caught up in worrying, or in our busy lifestyles that we forget to enjoy things. I thought this was really cool - for many reasons. I don't think she even had any clue how close she was coming to scripture - "faith like a child" - nor do I think she's a believer (she layed an F bomb 5 mins prior). I was very surprised at her sharing a personal experience with me as well. It's just cool how God works.
